2016 Blessing of the Waters - 01/31/16
On Sunday January 31, 2016, a Pan-Orthodox Blessing of the waters took place at Jordan Creek in Whitehall, PA. This beautiful spot was a most fitting site for the service on a mild, calm, and brilliant day, so unlike the originally scheduled date, a week earlier, when the Lehigh Valley had a record snowfall exceeding 30 inches. Participating clergy were Fr. James Weremedic and Fr. James Mason of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Bethlehem, Fr. Andrew Damick of St. Paul Antiochian Church, Emmaus, Fr. Anthony Perkins of Protection Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Allentown, and Fr. Alexandros Petrides of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Bethlehem.
